I can’t believe that it’s less than three weeks till we welcome in 2012!!

I’m excited about 2012, are you?

I’m excited by all the shifts and changes that are happening in the world. I believe that this is what 2012 is all about. The shifting into a new level of expansion where we take a stand for what we believe in and what is important to us. We’ll ditch the status quo and tune into a new way of living and relating that honors the individual and what each of us has to offer.

I’ve felt this shift coming for a long time now.  I’ve felt it in your unwillingness to be a cog in the system and your desire to do meaningful work and heal yourself, each other and the planet.

I feel now it in the dissatisfaction with the government, unequal distribution of wealth and dysfunctional justice systems throughout the world.

I feel it in the underlying desire for MORE that I hear expressed by my clients. More connection, meaning, abundance, joy, peace……the list goes on and on. This strong desire for more will not go unanswered! The opportunities are there for each of us.

I’m wondering how this shift is showing up for you? What are you questioning and wanting more of?

On a personal level, I’ve been feeling the shattering of some old stories that I’ve been subconsciously holding onto, and it’s opened the way for some major expansion!

I’m embarrassed to admit too some of these stories…but I will share them with you anyway.

One story said nobody really wanted me around nor did they care what I had to say. Another one told me I didn’t fit in with the cool kids.

Both of these stories are  just plain crazy!

When I pay attention to my life, I see proof that they are not true, but deep down inside I was buying  into these old stories and they were holding me back. Here are a few examples – I noticed that I was holding back in social situations and feeling like I didn’t fit in around other powerful, successful business women. I was looking for the ways I didn’t fit in rather than all the ways we could be friends. WTF!??

I also wouldn’t call friends up and pursue spending time together last minute because I figured everyone already had plans and they didn’t invite me. Poor me!!! No body likes me!!!

Seriously???!!??

I’m glad I cleared that shit out!!!

I’m enjoying my friends so much more and connecting with tons of cool  business men and women that I’m looking forward to collaborating with in 2012.

Are you experiencing all the internal questioning that this shift brings with it? Share what you are releasing and expanding into in the comments below!

Kick-Ass Consultation

Does the idea of flying your freak flag in your biz sound scary?

On one hand it’s wildly appealing BUT you don’t see how it will actually make you money!

People might think you’re weird, or unprofessional if you don’t do things the way everyone else does.

Or even worse, you might offend someone if you say what you really want to say! Then they will never buy from you.

It’s better to follow the established rules and blueprints for running your business, creating offerings and writing copy.

The gurus know best! They have made millions of dollars following these rules so you might as well do the same thing……….even if it feels hard and half that stuff you don’t want to do.

This is how I felt for a long time too. Even though I talk all about flying your freak flag and breaking free from your pre-packaged life, I was tangled up in a pre-packaged biz.

I totally understand how I got there. Running a biz is something that was unfamiliar to me and is my livelihood…..which means I wanted to make MONEY.

I wanted to have a successful business and make lots of money so I sought out the advice of people who already had successful businesses. They know best right

I can’t tell you how much money I spent- at least $10,000 over the past 5 years trying to learn how to write copy, create products and programs that sell, attract the perfect customers, and market my biz.

Some of it worked, but most of it didn’t. I ended up feeling like something was wrong with me because I wasn’t a successful as I knew I could be. I have a great message and I’m and awesome coach…people LOVE my stuff…but they weren’t signing up for my programs as much as I wanted. I felt like a failure and thought there was something wrong with what I was offering and me.

Then thankfully a friend called me out and said…”I love your stuff but your marketing and copy comes across as forced. It sounds like you are dressing up in somebody else’s cloths and I instantly tune it out. “

I was so happy that she said that because it felt forced and off to me too. I would struggle to write emails and sales pages. I was trying to do it the ‘right” way I had been taught and it felt way off to me and it came across that way too.

When I got honest with myself I realized that a lot of my biz was set up according to someone else’s ideas around how it should be. I took other people’s advice around what to offer and how often to send emails and write blog post. I struggled to say just the right thing. But it was coming across as hyped-up and fake and people didn’t trust me enough to buy from me.

My following the blueprint and doing things the “right way” totally backfired!

Then I got real and took my OWN ADVICE and decided to run my biz my way. I started flying my freak flag and things started to change quickly. I got a few new clients and some new opportunities to speak showed up. And the best part was that my biz started to feel very Kick-Ass to me.

Flying your freak flag in your biz makes people trust you MORE and want to buy what you are offering because they can relate to you better. When you fly your freak flag you allow people to see the real you! The energy is cleaner and you easily attract you right people right to your front door bank cards in hand.

If you want to learn more about doing this yourself- I invite you to join me for this free call-

What Do You Stand For?

By · Comments (0)

This month I’m part of a really cool program called the Morning Whip.  I’m in the process of fine tuning my biz to focus on working with non-conforming entrepreneurs who want to eliminate completion, stand out and shine, and make more money by flying their freak flag.

Since I know I’m very easily distracted by shiny things- the Daily Whip seemed like the perfect solution. I’m happy to say that it is totally working!!  I’m so clear on what my next steps are and I feel like I’ve gotten some serious momentum going now. Yay!! Plus I’m meeting some really cool women.

One of the assignments is to get crystal clear on your view point and revolution. Both pieces are essential because they allow you to take a stand for what you believe in and what you offer the world. This is crucial because the clearer you are on what you stand for and what you offer, the stronger the signal you’re sending out to the Universe- the faster the Universe will send opportunities to do it your way.

Your view point and revolution are unique to you. They are part of your freak flag, and when you wave it high and proud, it makes it really easy for the people who resonate with what you are offering to find you and buy from you.

Your view point is what makes you special, unique and different. It’s what you know to be true and feel passionate about. It’s the thing that drives you and the wisdom that you live by.

Your revolution is what pisses you off, what you see that’s missing and what you’re going to do about it.

This is such an important piece for entrepreneurs, especially if you are a coach, healer or other life transformation expert. This is the piece that will differentiate you from all the rest so that you don’t get lost in the crowd.

Do you know what your point of view and revolution is?

This is what I’ve come up with for mine.

My View Point

I am here to be fully self-expressed and create my life anyway I want too and you are too! We are both here to fly our freak flags high and proud and spend our time doing things that feel totally kick-ass.

I’m responsible for all my OWN outcomes and happiness…just like you.

There is no reason to stay stuck in any situation that feels sucky…EVER!!!

When I am fully self-expressed, taking 100% responsibility for my own life and doing what feels best to me; my life is totally kick-ass and I’m tapped into my ever abundant flow.

Mmmmmm….that feels good to think about!

My Revolution

It makes me crazy to see amazing, talented musicians, artists, healers and coaches struggling to survive and feeling like they need to give up their dreams and settle for a crappy job in order to be successful and make money!

Settling sucks!

Sure you might make some money if you go back to that soul-sucking job you used to have, but what about the quality of your life and your desire to be self-expressed and do what you love?

Giving up and conforming is not the way to go! Success lies in the opposite direction………..

The way to be successful is to stand out and shine by bringing more of you into your biz! Think about it. The most well known successful people got that way by doing their own thing. Oprah, Steve Jobs, Madonna, Sir Richard Branson, and Donald Trump all followed their dreams and played by their own rules. They are innovators. They did what they wanted to do the way they wanted to do it.

My revolution is showing musicians and entrepreneurs that the way to make money is to be full self-expressed and to fly your freak flag high and proud.

Be yourself-do what you love-own your talents-do things your way-stand out and shine!

Doesn’t that sound way better than settling and conforming?

I’d love to hear what your view point and revolution is! Share away in the comments down below.

How Not Flying Your Freak Flag Is Losing You Money

How often do you end up doing things you don’t really want to do because it’s expected of you?

You go to collage right out of high school because your parents expected you too….or you get married and have kids because it’s what your partner expects. Then you spend all your free time running your kids around because you’re expected to. That’s what parents do.

I know someone who went to law school because that is what was expected. The fact that they had no interest in becoming a lawyer was irrelevant. They ended up spending $100,000 and wasting years of their life on something that they hated. Only to ditch it later when they woke up and decided to take their life back.

I let myself get totally burnt out and sick working 70 hours a week as a restaurant manager because it was expected of me. That was before I smartened up and decided that I was in charge of my time and how much I worked.

Living according to other people expectations is a slippery slope that often dumps you right into a pre-packaged life that feels crappy. Matter of fact- the first step towards defying the box and flying your freak flag is choosing NOT to live according to other people expectations.

This  makes expectations seem like they are a bad thing…but is that really true?

I’m certain that having to live up to someone else’s expectations sucks!  It’s limiting and tends to end up with you trying to cram yourself into a box of conformity. Not so very kick-ass!

BUT- I think expectations are helpful in some instances. Knowing what is expected of you in your job or by your partner is very helpful! It makes things flow much easier because you know what someone wants you to do. There’s no guess work.

AND- Having your own expectations for how things will go and what you will do is extremely helpful from an energetic perspective.

You get what you expect- any LOA student knows that.

Picturing how you want things to be, using your intention and expecting that it will turn out as you wish is powerful magic. It’s how I create my Kick-Ass Life!  What about you?

I think expectations are sucky when they are forced on you and there is no clear communication about what is expected so you can say “yes” or “no” to it. I see this happen in relationships all the time.

Hell, I sometimes do it!! I used to expect that my boyfriend would automatically come to all family events with me….because that’s what you did- in my mind at least. He preferred for me to invite him and let him choose whether he wanted to come or not. I’d get so mad when he said he needed to think about going.

Our relationship got much better once we started discussing our expectations with each other, and each of us having the option to choose which exceptions we wanted to play along with.

It’s all about the choice. (Isn’t everything??)

I know that some philosophies say to release expectations- but that’s a bunch of bullshit! We’re human and part of being human is having an opinion on how you want things to be in your life. That is what helps you live the life you want to live.

What I think we could stand to release is the belief that everyone knows what we expect and has to live up to it. When it comes right down to it, your outcome is up to you. No one else is responsible for it. You can have all the expectations that you want, but it’s all on you to make sure they play out.

Perhaps the secret is to become aware of what your expectations are. Then let people know what they are and give them the choice to play along or not. Just like you have the option of playing along with theirs or not.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.

Are expectaions helpful or not?

What are some of yours and how do they serve you?
