Open the Way For Your Ever-Abundant Flow

Posted by: | Comments (0)

If you’re not in love with what you’re doing and what you’re offering- you’re wasting your time!

Energetically things are all off and you won’t get the results you are looking for.

In order to open the way for that ever-abundant flow of juicy goodness to start rushing in, you need to be in alignment with YOU. This applies to your life and your biz.

If you struggle to figure out what to write about on your blog or e-zine because you’re wondering what people want to hear from you- you are out of alignment.

When you write posts and articles based on what you feel excited to share – the way is open, baby!!

When you do things because they are expected of you, not because you want to- you are out of alignment.

When you fill your day doing things that you are excited about and interested in- your abundant flow is gushing.

When you are in alignment with YOU the way opens up and your next steps seem obvious. You don’t worry about what other people think and it all feels good. You naturally attract people and experiences to you that are resonating with your aligned energy.

Take a minute to imagine what that is like.

You only offer the services that you totally dig offering in your biz. You put your own special twist on what you do and it feels awesome. You get excited just talking about what you offer and it’s so easy to write about and pimp out. The perfect clients appear. It’s a blast working with them and they get fantastic results.

This is what Flying Your Freak Flag in your biz is all about! Coming into alignment with YOU and becoming so bright and shiny that your right people can see you from miles away.

So I ask you- Are you totally in love with what you’re offering and the people you’re working with in your biz?

If not- you need to start Flying The Freak Flag, baby!!

I can help- set up a Kick-Ass Consultation and we can talk about it.

From Demoralized to Kick-Ass!

Posted by: | Comments (1)

I want to share my story of transformation with you, so you know its possible.  It will also explain why I’m so confidant that I can help you do the same.

About 10 years ago I was just like you; feeling trapped and demoralized in a job-and a life-that was sucking me dry.

I was working at a high-end restaurant. I worked hard and I played hard. I was making CRAZY money and all my ducks were in a row.

But my soul was in a serious jam.

I didn’t really like what I was doing, even though I was great at it.

And the people I was spending most of my time with — my work colleagues — weren’t too inspiring either. They didn’t get me, and it was exhausting trying to fit in.

Eventually, I just stopped trying.

The worst part was that I felt trapped in this situation . I had bills to pay, I needed the money, and everyone told me that I would be crazy to leave such a high paying job.

So, I sucked it up and began to believe that this was just the way it had to be .

I was frustrated and uninspired. As a result I was pretty bitchy most of the time.

I found myself desperate for more fun and meaning in my life.

I spent a lot of time looking for something to make me feel better. I went out for drinks most nights and partied a lot. When I was home alone, I always had the TV or the computer on, sometimes both at the same time. I was trying to tune out that part of me that was crying out for something different.

Deep down inside I knew that my life could be different, that this couldn’t be ‘it’, but I was not sure exactly what ‘it’ was that I was looking for.

Strangely enough, I would catch a glimpse of it every now and then. I would come across a stranger who seemed “shiny” to me and they would have a special sparkle in their eyes. I could tell that their life did not suck.

All I knew was that I wanted some of what they had.

I had to break free of the frustrating, meaningless life I was living.

I wanted to like my job.

I wanted to enjoy my life and be inspired by it.

I wanted to stop hiding who I really was.

I felt like there was so much more in me, but I had NO IDEA how to access that.

I got to the point where it was no longer ‘OK’ to remain at a job that I hated and to be so unsatisfied by my life.I was fed up with feeling demoralized and my employer telling me I was lucky to have a job.

I started looking for a way out but didn’t feel like I had many options. I could use my Social Psych degree but how would I survive on entry level pay? I couldn’t bare the thought of another restaurant job! It would just be more of the same bullshit! I felt trapped!

I reached the point where I was about to snap!

I was getting sick a lot and feeling depressed. One day I  loudly declared  “I just need a break!” and that is exactly what I got. Later that day I was walking to my car, carrying some groceries, and I stumbled off the curb and had a big dramatic fall into the street, groceries flying everywhere. I broke my foot and severely sprained my ankle and was out of work for 6 weeks.

This accident made something clicked inside me and I knew something had to change. I couldn’t keep living like this. While I was on the mend I had lots of time on my hands to think about what my life had become. I read the book the Four Agreements and something shifted.

I realized that I could change things. I wasn’t a victim. I didn’t have to settle for a sucky life! I had no idea how it was all going to work out, but I trusted that it would.

I embarked on the journey of re-discovering who I had become and who I wanted to be. I took a new job doing behavior modification with autistic kids and learned all about identifying cause and effect. It felt awesome to leave my old unsatisfying job behind!

The new job wasn’t the perfect fit for me but it got me headed in the right direction. Then I saw Dr. Phil on Oprah and new that I wanted to do what he did! I loved the way he helped people take responsibility for their lives and take effective actions to change the things that didn’t work for them. I did some research and discovered life coaching, but I wasn’t sure I could really make it happen.

I decided I needed to shake up my perspective so I set out to explore and experiment and try some things on for size. I did a lot of things I had never done before and went on some wild adventures. Then when I was at Burning Man something clicked and I decided to pursue what I was really interested in-Life Coaching! When I returned I signed up for a 2 year program at Coach U.

I also participated in the Priestess Path Apprenticeship and embraced my spiritual self. Between the Priestess Path and coaching school I cracked my head open and looked deep inside.

Those two years were all about self discovery and releasing that which didn’t serve me. I came out the other side a different person. I was centered, grounded and clear and nothing could stop me from creating the Kick-Ass Life that I wanted to live.

My life transformation took years of earnest work and personal determination, but I can happily say that it was worth it.

My life fits me perfectly now. I live in a beautiful condo in Boston, Massachusetts. I’m surrounded by mermaids, play with my kitties, get to talk to clients from my mermaid corner, hang out with my amazing and talented friends, enjoy my sexy boyfriend, and find new and interesting things to expand my mind and heart each week. I am deeply satisfied in all aspects of my life.

What are You Talking Yourself Out Of?

Posted by: | Comments (0)

I work with all kinds of people who are tired of the status quo and want help breaking free from their pre-package lives. They come to me because they feel stuck in limbo and can’t figure out what will make their life feel more fulfilling, meaningful and fun. They want some clarity and a plan to shift things.

This might surprise you, but in most cases they actually already know what it is that will make their life more fulfilling, meaningful and fun, but they talked themselves out of it. Their heart has clearly showed them what they are passionate about and their head  convinced them that they shouldn’t waste their time pursuing it.

Do you ever find yourself letting your head talk your heart out of going after what you’re passionate about?

The great thing is that with a bit of coaching it’s easy to break free of the pre-packaged beliefs that fill your head and cause you to think that you shouldn’t follow your heart and do what interests you.

For example, the 30 something year old dude who was struggling to maintain his sanity in the secure, practical management job that he had. He felt trapped and needed help figuring out how to shift things so his life felt better.  After a few coaching sessions it was obvious that what he was really passionate about was being a musician, but he kept convincing himself that this was not a practical idea. He had bought in the pre-packaged belief that you can’t make money as a musician and you needed a real job in order to be a successful, responsible adult.

This is why he felt so trapped. His head was talking himself out of  what his heart was crying out for and it was making him totally depressed. I gave him the assignment to think of all the possible ways that he could make money as a musician, and to open up to the possibility. Next thing you know he had a list of options and new opportunities, and created a plan. Four months into his plan he was supporting himself as a musician, and now has more opportunities than he knows what to do with. His life is Kick-Ass!

I also worked with a woman who was turning 40 and wanted help creating the next phase of her life. For the past 20 years she had been focused on being responsible and was burnt out. She felt that  now was the time to create space to honor her creativity more. She felt limited in her options, and wanted help figuring out what this could look like for her. Once we started working together it became clear that what she really wanted was to write and to make the space in her life to do that, but she kept talking herself out of going for it because she didn’t think that was practical. Once we cleared out the pre-packaged beliefs that convinced her that she shouldn’t pursue this passion, and started looking at all the ways it could work, all kinds of possible scenarios started to appear. As her excitement about leaving her job to pursue her passion grew, the people around her got excited too. Everything began to fall into place and she now is set herself up to be able to do what interests her and still take care of her responsibilities. Her Kick-Ass Life is unfolding before her as we speak.

Next time you’re feeling unsatisfied and trapped, take some time to check in and see what your heart wants you to do. Pay attention to the pre-packaged beliefs that begin to fill your head and tell you all the reasons why you shouldn’t do it. Play in the realm of possibilities and start asking “How could this work? “

Caught in The Tangled Web of Conformity

Posted by: | Comments (4)

I’ve been pretty quiet lately. I’ve been all tangled up in a sticky web of “should” and “have too” concerning how I’m supposed to do things in my coaching biz.  It had me feeling totally stressed out, frustrated, and it was draining me of all my creative energy.

The worst part was that being caught in this web was also draining me of my excitement around the awesome new guidebook and discovery group that I am putting together. I’m totally passionate about what I have created, but trying to promote it in this pre-packaged way was making me very unhappy.

Luckily, some folks I’m in a mastermind group with called me out on my shit and said- “Leah, you are all about defying the box, promote this thing any way you want to! Why are you even trying to conform?”

That is a good freaking question!

Why am I caught up in this story that says I have to write up my sales copy in a specific way and put it out in the world in this pre-package format?

When I sit with this question I realize that sometimes I feel vulnerable and too attached to the results when I’m offering my coaching services.  What I’m offering the world is a little piece of my soul and that can feel very scary!  What if no-body wants it?? When I’m in this place, it’s easy to feel like I don’t know what I’m doing and look to other people for advice rather than tuning into what feels right to me. I buy into the idea that I need to do things a specific way to be successful.

What parts of your life do you find yourself thinking that you need to conform to a specific way of doing things?

All I can say is that I’m glad that I’ve come through on the other side!

In the next few weeks I’ll be rolling out my new Discovery group and awesome Guidebook in a way that feels kick-ass to me and I can’t wait to share it with you!
