Archive for alignment

Something interesting happened last week.

I noticed that I was I was trying too hard to “get it right” and I was feeling the pressure to “make something happen” in my business.

Do you ever feel that way?

I felt like part of this was the funky energy that has been swirling around in the Universe the past few weeks, but I also recognized that I was somehow out of alignment with what I wanted to create.

How did I know this?

Because shit kept showing up that was so not working for me and I was not getting the results that I was looking for.
Being the wise women that I am, I know that I somehow attracted these undesirable results, and it was my job to identify what was out of alignment and shift it.

And that is exactly what I did. In 3 days time I went from feeling pressured and having to make-something-happen, to feeling in the flow and kick-ass

Do you want to know how I did it?

I looked at what was showing up that did not work for me, identified how I was resonating with it, and I re-wrote my story to reflect what I wanted to be experiencing. Within three days everything had shifted and I was once again aligned with everything kick-ass in my life.

The magic of it all is that you can do this too when you feel like you are not getting the results that you are looking for.

Let me break it down for you.

First off, you need to take a step back and take a good look at what is going on.

Whatever you are experiencing is a direct manifestation of the energy that you are embodying. Do your best to get a clear perspective on what exactly is showing up that you are not wanting. This is valuable information and will give you insight into where you are not resonating with what you want and how you can shift it.

For example, one situation that kept showing up was that people said that they wanted to work with me, but they did not have any money.

I asked myself: “How am I resonating with this conversation?”

When I thought about it, I realized that I was holding onto a story that said money was tight and people did not have any to spend on creating their kick-ass dream life right now. I often talked about this “reality” with friends and colleges.
This story was totally out of alignment with what I wanted.  Believing this story made me feel like I had to work harder and figure out a way to overcome this obstacle. It made me play a much smaller game than I wanted to play. It did not feel good to me and I felt like I had to DO something to make something happen.

In my kick-ass dream life, I help people who are already committed to going after their kick-ass dream, and they want some help navigating the obstacles.  They are in-it-to-win-it and recognize the value of working with me and joyfully pay me for my services.

I needed to re-write my story and step back into the big game I wanted to play.

First , I consciously re-wrote my story to say:  Everyday there are thousands of people who are investing money in their kick-ass dream life. Right now, there are hundreds of people who are on the path to living their kick-ass dream life who eagerly await the opportunity to work with me and will joyfully pay me my full fee.

Then I set out to collect evidence that people were spending money on personal growth and happiness. It went something like this:

I frequently spend money on my own personal growth and happiness.
I often meet other women who invest in themselves.
Right now there are thousands of people who invest in themselves every day.
Matter of fact, right now there are many people who would welcome the opportunity to invest their money in my services. There is a history of people doing just that.
(Now I am feeling better! )

I decide to spend some the day looking for evidence of people spending money on their happiness and living their kick-ass dream life.

I noticed the women who spend money on Zumba classes, a fancy car, shopping for new cloths, and whatever else that I can find that supports the idea that people are spending money on their kick-ass dream lives.

Soon I could feel my energy shifting and I was back in the flow.

You know what?

It worked, the next conversation I had with someone resulted in them hiring me! There was no talk about lack of money. This person is an ideal client and the whole conversation was effortless.

Where are you feeling that you are not getting the results that you want and you have to really push to make things happen?

Try re-writing your story and see what happens!  Share your results down below in the comments.

The Price of Impatience

Posted by: | Comments (3)

I thought it was a good idea at the time.

I was so excited to make things happen and create some big changes so that I could make a giant leap forward and step more firmly into my kick-ass dream life.

What I didn’t consider was that the three programs I signed up for to help me do just that were all going on at the same time.

I realized that I had  made myself crazy busy and I started to spiral into overwhelm.

I have  put myself into full time SUMMER SCHOOL!

What was I thinking?

I can tell you what I was thinking: I want my kick-ass dream life to show up RIGHT NOW !

I was getting impatient and feeling like things were not happening fast enough.

How many of you can relate to that ?

So, I decided to take some action that I felt would rocket me forward.

The problem is that I didn’t take the time to create a structure to support me in doing this. I did not step back and imagine what it would be like to be in these programs, and the time commitment and the workload.  I didn’t focus on the outcome that I was looking for and create space for it to happen.  I didn’t clear away the things in my life that were not in alignment with my stepping up in this big new way.

I didn’t set myself up for success in anyway and now I am paying the price.

Overwhelm!

Funny, Abraham-Hicks sent out a quote   the other day that fits perfectly.

“Overwhelment is about you not being up to speed with what you told the Universe that you want. The Universe is yielding to you. You’re just not ready to receive it right now.”

These words ring true for me.  I was not ready to receive what I had asked for.

I ask myself: “What needs to be released, or brought in to support you in stepping into your dream?”

One thing that needs to be brought in is a newly defined commitment to do this work, and to make it my  #1 priority.

The next thing I did was re-evaluate how I was spending my time and decide if there were any things that are  not serving me. There are a few groups and projects that I have decided to let go of because they are not really going anywhere.  I also had to redefine my relationship with Plants vs. Zombies, (Sorry guys…I will only be coming around every now and then.) and my TV.

I did make the commitment to keep some space for fun, and not to burn myself out working 12 hour days.  That just does not feel good and is so NOT part of my kick-ass dream life!

So we will see what happens.

The Overwhelm has left the building and I am beginning to feel the juicy goodness of everything expanding around me.

Oh yeah… that feels nice!

In my last post I left you pondering the question: “How do I get into alignment with my big dream?”

I will share one way with you now.

Focus on the “What” and the “Why” of your dream and forget about the “How” for now.

I know that this may sound like crazy talk, but I assure you that I have not gone around the bend with this one.

Let me break it down for you.

Most people spend less than a minute focusing on what their kick-ass dream is going to feel like once they are living it, before they immediately shift into “How am I going to make this happen” mode.

In most cases, you do not have a clear plan around “HOW” you are going to go about making your dream happen, so it creates a bit of resistance inside of you.

This resistance shows up as confusion, frustration, self-doubt, and overwhelm. (I am sure you can come up with a few feelings of your own here.) Once you are in the bad feeling place you are not in alignment with your dream, and it makes it very difficult for you to manifest it.

At this point, if you were like me, you would find yourself giving up and moving onto something else, or getting resentful and pulling up one of your old scapegoat stories around why you can’t have this dream or why you do not deserve it.

Now let’s look at this process from another perspective.

What if you spent a majority of your time focusing on the “What” and the “Why” of your kick-ass dream?

The “What” being the thing you want to manifest, and the “Why” being the reason you are doing it.

By spending your time focusing on these things, you are tapping into the good feelings that living your dream will bring you. The more you explore how it is going to feel to be living your dream, and what it is going to look like, the more you are expanding those juicy good feelings . By focusing on the juicy good feelings, you are bringing yourself into alignment with your dream.

A really cool thing happens when you do this: The details of “How” to create your dream begin to unfold before you.  By focusing on the “What” and “Why” you have created the perfect space for the “How” to show up.

So, tell me, WHAT is your kick-ass dream and WHY do you want it?

Soon I will share with you the potential pitfalls to watch out for when doing this.

Feeling Good Is Where It’s At.

Something to think about from Abraham-Hicks:

Hard work is not the path to Well- Being. Feeling good is the path to Well-Being. You don’t create through action; you create through vibration. And then, your vibration calls action from you.
