Whats Your Theme for 2012?
Posted by: | Comments
Happy New Year!!!
What’s your theme for the new year?
My theme for 2012 is being fully self-expressed!
I prefer having a theme rather than resolutions. Mostly because I suck at resolutions!
In my mind, resolutions take willpower and that is not something that I have a lot of. I gave up on forcing myself to have willpower a long time ago. It’s just not how I operate. I get more done when I choose to focus on bringing more of something into my life! It’s more fun and expansive which is how I like to roll.
What works best for you when it comes to making changes?
The first thing I’m doing as part of my self-expression theme is to start flying my freak flag higher and prouder in my biz. It seems like the perfect place to start since flying your freak flag is all about self-expression and letting people see the real you.
Here are some of the things you’re going to be seeing more of from me-
I’ll be talking more about the law of attraction and how to work in harmony with it to create your freaky empire. This principle is the foundation of the work I do and it’s time I gave it the place of honor it deserves.
I’m changing my services around to better reflect how I love to work with people. Gone will be the group programs, and convoluted coaching packages. I’m going to be focused on offering Unfurl Your Freak Flag Sessions and Booster Packs. (Email me if you want to learn more about this!) There will be two other ways that people can work with me that I’ll be revealing in the future.
I’m ditching my podcast that has been sitting around gathering dust for the past 6 months. It was fun for a while but I’m ready to move on to something else now…..like being interviewed by other people!!!! Don’t worry; you can still listen to all the past episodes here.
I’m focusing on only doing things that I want to do rather than things I feel I need to do. Over the past few weeks I’ve really been noticing the difference between these two energies.
When I want to do something- like work on my new kick-ass email series-I feel excited and expansive. I can’t wait to get started.
But, when I feel like I need to work on that same email series, there is a sense of pressure and constrictive energy about it.
Typically the thoughts that come with the feeling that I need to work on it are based in the idea that if I don’t work on the email series , then I’ll never get another client, or I won’t be able to grow my list or make money. Everything is contingent on my finishing that email series…..so I neeeed to do it! Can you feel the pressure there? I can’t produce anything kick-ass under those conditions!
Can you?
I invite you to notice when you are doing something in your biz because you think you need to do it, rather than wanting to do it. Which energy feels more expansive to you?
From a law of attraction perspective- which energy do you think is going to get you into your freaking fabulous empire faster? The expansive energy of -I want to do this- wins every time.
I’d love to hear what you’ll be doing more of in 2012! Go ahead and share away in the comments below.
A bit of morning basking
Posted by: | CommentsYesterday was one of those amazing days when I’m really able to feel how Kick-Ass my life is.
I had to go get my car serviced and it required me to venture out onto the rush hour traffic at 7:30 AM , which is something that I rarely do. Traffic was backed up everywhere I went, with people blocking intersections and cutting each other off. (I DO live in Boston, and we’re not known for being nice drivers). It made me think how much it would suck to have to do this every day!
I big wave of appreciation swept over me and I could feel an amazing sense of joy swelling inside of me. I have successfully created my life to honor my ‘Yes’. I don’t have to do anything that I don’t want to do. My life is perfectly designed to suit me. Sometimes I have no idea how I am going to achieve something, or where the money is going to show up from, but it always works out. Every time I get exactly what I need to expand further in to who I really am.
Boy does that feel good!!!
I basked in those good feelings all the way to the Mazda dealership.
You know what?
I can teach YOU how to design your life to be Kick-Ass too.
How I was Saved from the Dreaded Overwhelm
Posted by: | CommentsHave you ever had something come together so effortlessly, you wondered why you were worried about it to begin with?
Well, that is exactly what is happening for me with The Crash Course
When I contemplated getting things ready for this course, it seemed a bit overwhelming at first. It certainly is the biggest thing I have ever offered before, and I was not clear on exactly how it would all unfold.
To be honest, when I started thinking about “HOW”it was all going to happen, I got a bit freaked out and started feeling the dreaded overwhelm starting to creep up on me. I started to get lost in the details of it all and I found myself getting distracted by thoughts that were not helpful at all.
Thoughts like:
“Maybe I am not ready!”
“I have no idea what I am doing”
“I should put this off until I have ….more money…more time…more clarity.”
I spent way too much time playing Chuzzel and tuning out my confusion and self-doubt. ( I did get some pretty amazing high scores!)
I will admit there was a moment or two when I thought about scrapping the entire idea, and then I would connect with someone who would really benefit from the Crash Course and my inspiration would coming flooding back in.
The more I connected with the reason “WHY” I was inspired to create the course in the first place, the easier it was to stay connected to my ideas and the details of how to create it fell into place.
What was my big inspiration?
Why, it was all of you! I want you to feel whole, part of a kick-ass abundant world, and fulfilled beyond your wildest dreams. ( I want this for myself too.)
The more I focused on what the outcome would be for the cool peeps taking this course, the easier it became for me to create the content and put it all together.
And you can do this too. Focus on the “What” and “Why” of what you want to create in your life, and let that vision pull you towards the “How” of it all.
Try it out and let me know what happens in the comments below.
How do I keep from falling back into my old way of being?
Posted by: | CommentsThis is a recent question that I received:
I am so ready to step into my authentic self and really embrace all that I desire, but I still feel part of myself resisting it.
Why is that??
If I can see who I want to be, what is stopping me from jumping in with both feet? Why do I find myself falling back into my old way of being and my ‘not-me’ behaviors?
This is a great question that many of my clients face.
The short answer: You need to commit to feeling things fully so that you no longer need those ‘not-me’ behaviors and old ways of being.
These behaviors and ways of being that you are trying to release are deeply ingrained in your ego and there is energy attached to them. You developed all the ‘not-me’ behavior in order to avoid feeling some kind of undesirable feeling. As children, our bodies are not equipped to run a lot of energy, and as a result, you got overwhelmed very easily. Typically, the folks around you can’t handle it, and you feel that, which enforces the idea that feeling those overwhelming feelings is undesirable, besides the fact that overwhelm does not feel good. So you begin to avoid feeling these energies at all costs.
Enter your EGO.
Your ego loves to identify everything and put a label on it so it knows what to expect. It gets really good at identifying any feeling that could potentially lead to overwhelm and creates all kinds of behaviors that keep you “safe” from these undesirable energies. In order to do this, a whole bunch of unconscious stories, beliefs and habits are developed that make up your perspective around how the world works, and who you need to be in order to survive in it.
What this all comes down to is that you are resisting feeling things fully.
Most of this stuff is unconscious and goes unexamined until you decide to make changes in your life.
Deciding to do the work to change your life is a conscious activity, especially if being truly authentic is your goal. Part of being conscious is to be fully present to what you are feeling…..which equals feeling things fully.
This is a major shift for many people.
The Ego convinces you that the intellect is king and it is all about thinking, where as your higher-self knows that all the information you need is right here in this moment for you to feel.
See the problem here?
If you are not committed to feeling things fully then you miss out on so much importnat information. You also fall back into these unconscious “not-me” behaviors and ways of being that are created to avoid feeling things fully.
The next question is: Won’t my head explode if I am feeling everything fully? Won’t I become overwhelmed?
The reality is that as we grow older and our bodies become fully developed we are totally capable of feeling everything and much, much more than we ever imagined. Your body is designed to be present in this wondrous and amazing world. You can feel and process everything you need to. The best part is, that as you allow yourself to really feel things fully, and experience all that there is for you to experience, it gets easier and easier to do. Your ability to feel and run energy expands. Next thing you know you are tapped right into your ever abundant flow and the world is your playground.
What do you think? Are you ready to jump in to your ever abundant flow?
