Do You HAVE to Work Hard for the Money?

Posted by: | Comments (0)

If you believe that you must work hard in order to deserve the money that comes to you, then money cannot come to you unless you do work hard. Financial success, or any other kind of success, does not require hard work. It does require alignment of thought. You simply cannot offer negative thought about things that you desire and then make up for it with action or hard work. When you learn to direct your own thoughts, you will discover the true leverage of Energy alignment.

— Abraham

Excerpted from the book “Money and the Law of Attraction: Learning to Attract Health, Wealth and Happiness

Energy Alignment is where it is at. It is vital to be aware of your thoughts and stories about how your world works. They are the blueprint for your experience.

The more aware you are, the easier it is to deliberately direct your thoughts.

The thing is, most people are not aware of their stories and thoughts about the world. They just think “Thats just the way it is”.

In most cases, you are too caught up in living your story to recognize that you are in it.

There is  great benefit to learning to identify your stories about money, relationship, health, work, gender roles and all other aspects of your life.

Especially if your are not satisfied with how they are turning out.

A very common story is that you HAVE to work hard in order to make money. That the road to success paved with long hours, struggle,

sacrifice, hard work, and paying your dues.

If this is your story, I challenge you to step back and begin to questions where that story came from and if it has to be true for you.

Can you imagine effortless success?

If the idea of effortless success is appealing to you, tune into Defy the Box radio Tuesday July 28th and listen to me discuss this

with my guest Ruth Hagerty.

Thought for the Day: Contrast

Posted by: | Comments (0)

For every pleasing thing, there is an unpleasing counterpart, for within every particle of the Universe is that which is wanted as well as the lack of that which is wanted. When you focus upon an unwanted aspect of something in an effort to push it away from you, it only comes closer, because you get what you give your attention to whether it is something that you want or not. It is up to you to focus upon and attract what is wanted.

— Abraham

Excerpted from the book “Money and the Law of Attraction: Learning to Attract Health, Wealth and Happiness”

I like this for two reasons.

The first being that this reminds you not to give your attention to the unwanted aspects of life.

Why waste time and energy thinking about what is not working for you? It only serves to amplify the energy of what you do not want.

The other reason why I like this statement is because it reminds you of the duality of everything in the Universe. There is just as much good as bad all around us. What you see is determined by where you are focusing your attention. This contrast is a wonderful tool and really gives you an opportunity to get very clear on what you would rather have instead.

Take a minute and identify where you focus your attention.

Are you focusing on what you want or what you do not want?

This week’s episode of Defy the Box radio was all about the energy of Money. My usual co-host, Papillion, was off frolicking for his birthday so a few of my old Wisdom Collective friends stepped up and joined me on the call. The end result was fun and information packed show.

I want to share something with you that really stood out for me during the call.

First: You get what you think about. I cannot say this enough.

Second: It is important to recognize that when you think about Money it is really two subjects, and it is vital that you know which one you are focused on.

The two subjects are:
1) Yes, Money! There is plenty of money. I feel the freedom and ease that plenty of money can bring. Money flows easily to me and is a means to bring me everything I desire. This is the place of your ever abundant flow.

2) The Absence of Money, Not nearly enough money, and the feeling of fear and disappointment that you get when you think about the absence of money. This is a big place of Lack and there is never enough here.

To tune into what subject you are focusing on when you think about money try this simple exercise.

Think about some “Thing” that you want, and notice what your thoughts and feelings are about it.

Are you focusing on how cool it will be to have what you want? How much you will enjoy having it and how fun it will be to use it. How it is the perfect addition to your home, wardrobe, or life.

Or are you focusing on how much you want and need it but where are you going to get the money for it? It costs how much? Jeeze! It is not that great anyway, and I should look for a cheaper version. I will never be able to afford that….not with the pitiful pay I get.

Do you feel the difference between these two statements?

Which thought process do you think will bring you more prosperity and abundance?

This is a wonderful discussion around how other peoples rules become part of our lives from the get go, and how that conditions us to follow other peoples rules throughout our lives. We then explored different ways to determine if it is time for some new rules in your life, and if so, how do you go about determining what works for you.

1. Embrace the idea that the Universe is conspiring WITH you to have what you want.It always sends you what you ask for, every time. (Remember that you asking with your emotions and feelings not just your thoughts)

2. Once you got this, be a pal and tell the Universe what you want by thinking about it and feeling it. Spend time imagining all the things you want to experience, and really get into the feeling of what it would be like to have it. How would it affect your life? What would be different?

3. Ignore reality and tell the story of how you want it to be. It is easy to get caught up in the idea that you are supposed to tell “it like it is” rather than telling the story of what you desire. When you continue to focus on a “reality” that is undesirable to you, you are actually amplifying the energy of that thing and asking for more of the same.

4. Recognize that in every moment, you can focus on the “Good reality” or the “Bad reality”. They both exist with every possible “in between” outcome at all times for every subject. The outcome that you experience is determined by where you are focusing your attention in this broad spectrum of possibilities.

5. Spend time every day amplifying the energy of what you want more of. It is easy! All you need to do is appreciate the things that you are enjoying in your day and the people around you. It could be an s simple as noticing someone’s earrings, or mentioning something you appreciate about your partner. Allow yourself to feel the good feelings that brings up. That is the energy you want more of.

6. Learn to pivot your thoughts from what you don’t want to what you do want. This simple exercise will immediately shift your energy to a more expansive vibration. When you notice yourself focusing on what you do not want, either in conversation or in your head, say, “I clearly know what I Do NOT wants. What is it that I DO want?”

7. Create some quiet “alone time” everyday to slow down and chill out. Meditate, take a walk outside, listen to some music that sooths you, whatever it is that allows you to slow down and connect yourself. Step outside of your usual swirl and re-connect to your center.

8. Hang out with positive, happy people. Spending time with folks who are bitching and complaining only brings you down. Find a group of people who are focused and talking about living the life you want to create. Stay away from groups that focus on what you are not wanting. For example, do not join a group protesting war, but rather join a group that supports peace.

9. Make it your mission to notice the abundance that already exists in your life. Notice that you have food and cloths and a roof over your head. Be thrilled that you found a penny in your couch. See the abundance of love you have for your pets and that they give you back. Be thankful for the coffee someone bought you, or the lunch you got at your meeting at work. If you start looking for the abundance, I guarantee that you will begin to see it all around you.

10. Have fun! Laugh and Play! Enjoy your friends and family!
