Laying the Ground Work for the New Year part 1
Posted by: | CommentsRight about now, I start realizing that the New Year is right around the corner
and it might be a good time for setting some intentions around what I would like
to experience over the next 12 months. I am a firm believer in consciously
telling the Universe what I want more of so that it knows what to send my way.
The reality is that we are always telling the Universe what we want, but usually
we are doing it in an unconscious manner. I suggest that for the coming year
you make a commitment to doing it more consciously. You will be amazed at the results!
I feel that the best way to do this is by paying attention to what you are focusing
your attention on. If you want to be a super star at this, you will also do your
best to be conscious of what you are thinking about. Luckily, we have the ability
to control where we focus our attention, although I will be the first to admit that
it takes some effort and practice to do this.
When I go about setting intentions for the New Year, I take some time to reflect
on the past year.I find it easier to know where I want to go,
if I acknowledge where I have been.
Looking Back
As I look back over the past year, I take note of what has happened in my
business and personal life. I look at my relationships, money, my connection
to myself, and my health.
I ask myself these questions:
What has expanded?
Where have I grown?
What did not work for me? (What would be better?)
What would I like to be different?
What am I feeling good about?
What do I want more of?
What can I let go of?
Stick to the Facts
If you choose to do this yourself, I highly recommend keeping focused on
the simple factual answers to the questions, rather than the story around
why something did not work, or how it stopped you from being happy or
successful. The story is just the story and will not help you in setting
your intentions for the New Year.
Re-Focus Your Attention
When you ask yourself “What did not work for me? “, write the answers down
and then leave space to answer this question: “ What would be better?” .
When you answer the question “What would be better?” you are automatically
re-focusing your attention on what you DO want, rather than what you don’t want.
This re-focusing of your attention and energy is a powerful step in consciously
telling the Universe for what you want.
Amplifying the Energy
After I have finished reflecting on the past year, I take note of what I want
more of, what worked for me, and what would be better, and I imagine what it
would look like if I had all of those things in my life.
I play the Wouldn’t It Be Cool Game which goes something like this:
Wouldn’t it be cool if I had a long list of people who eagerly signed
up for all my classes and could not wait to work with me one-on-one so
that I could support them in really identifying the stories that stand in
the way of their success?
Wouldn’t it be cool if I discovered a cool, affordable, relaxed
space where I could hold workshops and events?
Usually, after asking myself these questions,I need a break. Some eggnog
seems like a good choice right about now! This is also the perfect time for
some fun and shenanigans.Once you are feeling refreshed you can get back to
creating your intentions.

What Are Your Emotions Telling You???
Posted by: | CommentsLately, I have been talking about Hedonism and how important it is to seek out what feels good to you. This is important work because your emotions are a sure fire way to tell if you are in alignment with all the juicy goodness that is just waiting for you to discover it.
Your emotions are the part of you that is connected to your super deluxe navigation system. It is super deluxe because it is always honing in on what will bring you the most happiness, fun and meaning into your life. This system has an amazing big picture perspective and can clearly see the juicy goodness even when you can’t.
It communicates with you through your emotions. When you are on course, you feel good. You may feel happy, inspired, excited, or interested. The more you focus and think about these good feelings, the farther down the path of juicy goodness you will travel.
When you are veering off course you feel bad. You may become irritated, jealous, frustrated, or angry. The farther of course you veer, the more intense the emotions and the more likely you are to start manifesting negative experiences to go along with and validate the bad feelings. Life will start to suck. This is a clear indicator that you are way out of alignment and totally off course.
I want to add this in: It is not your job to control or change your emotions. All you need to do is learn how to tune into how you feel. Let your emotions guide you along and show you the way to a life that totally Rocks!
Your Inner-Freak Is Your Super Power
Posted by: | CommentsI have been noodling this idea for a while now.
A Super Power is the thing that sets you apart from everyone else.
It is something that is unique to you.
It makes you stand out and gives you the ability to do something that no one else can.
You can also use your Super power to benefit yourself and humanity.
I like the sound of that.
Your Inner-Freak is all these things too.
It is that part of you that you consider to be different from other folks.
It sets you apart.
It makes you unique.
It also knows what you like and what feels good.
Your inner-freak is your super power. Fully embracing it and owning it allows you to share your super powers with the world. If you ignore it, and make it wrong for being too ‘freaky’, you deny everyone, including yourself, the opportunity to benefit from it.
I am curious to hear what you think about this wild idea in the comments below.
A Hedonist Adventure
Posted by: | CommentsHow to bring more juicy goodness into your life.
Many of the people that I work with feel like their lives suck in one way or another.
* they can’t stand their job
* feel overwhelmed in their business
* their relationship is stagnant,
* they are just plain old bored and uninspired.
They are sick and tired of doing the same dull shit everyday.
They are tired of struggling to achieve the success that they know is out there…. somewhere…..waiting for them.
(they think it is)
They hope it is!
They are dying for some fun, meaning, and satisfaction in their lives.
Juicy Goodness! That’s what they want!
In order to get to the juicy goodness you need to start identifying what feels good to you and what you want more of.
It is a big process of exploration. Curiosity is key!
I send my clients on a Hedonists Adventure. This adventure has two parts.
The first part is all about discovery.
Take note of all the things that are currently in your life that:
• Feel good
• Already work
• You want more of
• Makes you smile
The second part is all about exploration.
Go check out all the things that you think might interest you. Especially the things that you feel like you are not supposed to be interested in! Read books, join groups, go new places, look on the web. Challenge yourself to push past your usual boundaries and take a peek into the world you were always curious about.
As you begin to explore these things, notice how it feels to you. If you get a big “Yes…I want more of this” go for it! If you get “ No…not digging it so much” move on to something else. This adventure is all about discovering what feels good and increases your happiness.
This adventure is guaranteed to give you plenty of food for thought and to identify a few different things you might like to try on for size in your career and personal life.
What would you like to go out and explore?
Thought for the Day: You Ask With Your Desire
Posted by: | CommentsLaw of Attraction abounds, and when it is said to you, “Ask, and it is given,” there is no more powerful statement that is at the basis of what makes things happen than that. Now, how is it that you think you ask? With your words? The Universe doesn’t hear your words. You ask with your desire. The desire that is born out of the contrast. That desire. That wanting. That’s what summons the Life Force.
— Abraham
Excerpted from the Abraham-Hicks workshop in Seattle, WA on Sunday, June 21st, 1998 #191
Your desire is key!
This is why it is so important to train yourself to shift your focus from what you are seeing that you do not want, to what you would rather have.
Most people get caught up in focusing their attention on what they do not like about something, or what is not working. They talk about it, and complain about it how it should be differant. This is actually doing the opposite of what they want. Complaining amplifies the energy of what you do not want because you are focusing your attetion on it.
When faced with something that you do not want, allow yourself to focus on what would be better or what you feel like the solution might be. Allow your desire for something different be the energy you are sending out to the Universe.
Your desire is powerful stuff!
