How to Create a Kick-Ass Life – Part 1
Posted by: | CommentsYou’ve declared that 2011 is going to be better than last year. It’s got to be, right?
Hell, maybe you’ve even gone as far as to say that this year is going to be the year you settle for nothing less than Kick-Ass! Woo-hoo!!!
The question is, just how are you going to go about making this year better than last year? What’s your plan for achieving kick-ass?
You have one, right?
If not, I’d love to offer up a few suggestions for how to go about doing it.
I’m doing this because I want to see you living a Kick-Ass Life. Mostly because I’m selfish, the more people living kick-ass lives, the more interesting, awesome, happy people there are for me to hang out and play with.
I mean seriously. People living kick-ass lives are fun and from my perspective- Fun is better!!
Assuming that you all want kick-ass lives, I’m going to share some things that will help you create one for yourself.
First and foremost, the proper mindset is essential!
The way you approach creating change is very important. Where you focus your attention, how you think about things and your level of commitment deeply influences your outcome.
If you’re like many people, you’re used to focusing on the things that aren’t working for you. You get caught up in your problems and you can’t see any solutions. You feel stuck and overwhelmed and nothing seems to change, or it gets worse! This is so frustrating, and you begin to doubt yourself and often times give up.
You’re approaching things from the wrong angle!
When you focus on all your problems and the things you don’t want, you get more of the same. When you learn how to shift your mindset, so that you are focusing your attention on all the things that you do want in your life, and the things that feel good to you, then you will get the results you are looking for.
Where you focus your attention matters! Luckily, this is something that you actually have control over. You get to choose what thoughts you pay attention to. It takes a bit of practice, but you’ll get the hang of it.
Anchor yourself into your desire to live a Kick-Ass Life.
This is important because eventually things are going to get difficult. If your not anchored into your desire it will be really easy to give up when the going gets rough. If you want to succeed at creating your Kick-Ass Life, you have to be committed and persistent in your efforts. One way you can do this by setting an intention and making your happiness a priority.

Hedonists, Commitment and Feeling Good
Posted by: | CommentsNothing is More Important Than That I Feel Good………
How does this statement make you feel?
If your response is anything but- “Right On!” – you have some explaining to do.
Tell me all the reasons why your happiness is not your priority.
I want to hear about the beliefs that you hold that say it is OK to feel bad.
I am curious to know -what could be more important to you?
In my world there is nothing that is more important than feeling good and I make it my priority to arrange things in my life to support that. ( I’m a self admitted Hedonist but that has very little to do with this! )
I have no doubt that some of you are all fired up because I’m suggesting such a thing, so just settle down and think about this for a bit.
Feeling bad sucks! It certainly doesn’t help you create your Kick-Ass Life-unless of course it lights a fire under your ass and gets you to take some action towards changing things.
You are more likely to live a Kick-Ass Life if you are committed to feeling good.
Your Kick-Ass Life = Feeling Good!
Do you see why it is important now?
If you want to commit to feeling good you are going to need a few tricks up your sleeve.
Here is a great place to start…..
Pay attention to your thoughts. This is something that you actually have control over. You get to choose the thoughts that you are focusing on.
Whenever you are feeling less than good about something, stop and say
Nothing is more important than that I feel good—I want to find a reason NOW to feel good-
and then look for an improved thought. Doing this changes everything very quickly.
Try it out!

Let’s get freaky!
Posted by: | CommentsThis week on My Kick-Ass Dream Life we’re gonna get freaky and talk about embracing your Inner-Freak. ( This show was postponed till Oct. 25th…please join us then!)
“What the hell is my inner-freak? Is this something sexual?”
Well…..it can be something sexual…but not necessarily.
Your Inner-Freak is your super power! This is where your magic lies.
It knows what you are really good at and what you will get the most satisfaction from.
It also knows what will make you happy and is always on the lookout for fun.
Your Inner-Freak is the part of you that is uniquely you and different from everyone else. It likes to put potato chips on your tuna fish sandwich, and wear glittery eye makeup and crystals on your forehead. It’s the part that likes to dress up in crazy costumes and frolic in the forest. It is the part that cries out for something more, and longs to go on grand adventures. It is the part of you that thinks it will be fun to go to Tuscany and do pottery for the summer, or quit your boring day job and become a yoga teacher in Peru.
The sad part is that most of us learned to ignore our Inner –Freak at a young age. Sometimes people didn’t respond to our ‘freakiness’ so well. We learned to hide it so that we could fit in and not be made fun of or bullied. We convinced ourselves that there was something wrong with our Inner-Freak and we learned tune it out and ignore it.
I will let you in on a secret……if you want to live a Kick-Ass Life; you need to become good friends with your Inner-Freak. It is your biggest asset.
Want to learn more about doing this? Tune in Monday-10/25 – at 3 PM EST and get in on the conversation. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/my-kick-ass-dream-life-/2010/10/25/lets-get-freaky
