Let’s get freaky!
Posted by: | CommentsThis week on My Kick-Ass Dream Life we’re gonna get freaky and talk about embracing your Inner-Freak. ( This show was postponed till Oct. 25th…please join us then!)
“What the hell is my inner-freak? Is this something sexual?”
Well…..it can be something sexual…but not necessarily.
Your Inner-Freak is your super power! This is where your magic lies.
It knows what you are really good at and what you will get the most satisfaction from.
It also knows what will make you happy and is always on the lookout for fun.
Your Inner-Freak is the part of you that is uniquely you and different from everyone else. It likes to put potato chips on your tuna fish sandwich, and wear glittery eye makeup and crystals on your forehead. It’s the part that likes to dress up in crazy costumes and frolic in the forest. It is the part that cries out for something more, and longs to go on grand adventures. It is the part of you that thinks it will be fun to go to Tuscany and do pottery for the summer, or quit your boring day job and become a yoga teacher in Peru.
The sad part is that most of us learned to ignore our Inner –Freak at a young age. Sometimes people didn’t respond to our ‘freakiness’ so well. We learned to hide it so that we could fit in and not be made fun of or bullied. We convinced ourselves that there was something wrong with our Inner-Freak and we learned tune it out and ignore it.
I will let you in on a secret……if you want to live a Kick-Ass Life; you need to become good friends with your Inner-Freak. It is your biggest asset.
Want to learn more about doing this? Tune in Monday-10/25 – at 3 PM EST and get in on the conversation. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/my-kick-ass-dream-life-/2010/10/25/lets-get-freaky
The Real Reason Why the Things You Want Aren’t Showing Up
Posted by: | CommentsDo you ever get discouraged because the things that you want in your kick-ass life have not appeared yet?
You did the work of identifying what your Kick-Ass Dream Life would look like, you put things in motion, but it still hasn’t manifested. It’s so frustrating and you have no idea what you are doing wrong.
Don’t give up!
The reason why your kick-ass life has not appeared yet is because you are not used to thinking of yourself living it.
I am serious.
How much time do you spend actually picturing yourself living your kick-ass dream life?
Do you think of yourself utilizing the things that are the building blocks of your aspirations?
You have to visualize being the Star of your kick-ass life and play it over and over in your mind so that it becomes part of you.
This is a key step in Kick-Ass Creation!
What I usually see clients doing before they start working with me is that they spend time dreaming about what their kick-ass life would look like, and have maybe even created a vision board about it, but then they go about business as usual. They still do all the same things that they were always doing, except now they notice how the things they want are not appearing. They think about their goals, BUT they do not picture themselves having and using the things that comprise their Kick-Ass Dream Life. The things they want are still separate and outside of themselves.
You need to claim your kick-ass dream and own it. Think of yourself as already living it and act as-if it is already here.
Here are a few of the tricks that I share with my private clients that you can use to help with this process:
- Take time to connect to your version of your kick-ass life: Write out a detailed version of what a typical day in your kick-ass life looks like. How do you feel when you wake up? How does your day flow? With whom do you talk? With whom do you have dinner? Read this everyday and imagine yourself living it.
- Believe that you can have it!!! Seriously! Your doubt is a gigantic obstacle to getting what you want.
- Act as-if you are already living your kick-ass life and create the support structures that you will need to do so. Let go of the things that do not serve your new vision and bring in what you now need. For example, if your kick-ass life includes climbing Mt. Everest, you had better make sure exercise is a big part of your week. This applies to everything: people, environments, health, etc.
- Talk about your version of Kick-Ass. Tell people what you are doing and creating. Speaking it gives it power, and it also makes you a bit more accountable.
- Spend time looking for evidence that your desires are showing up. Notice every little thing on your list that is evident in your new life already.

Why do people do this?
Posted by: | CommentsI am really curious to hear what you think about something.
So, last week I was having an awesome conversation with Pace Smith of the Freak Revolution about living your kick-ass dream life and being awesome, and we got off onto a tangent about this crazy statistic that says the vast majority of people need to have something really bad happen in order for them to do something about improving their lives.
This drives me crazy!!!
Why does the shit have to hit the fan before someone will take the time to focus on what would make their lives better?
It seems to me that it would be so much easier and life would get kick-ass really fast, if you spent your time fine tuning and focusing on the things that would make your life even cooler, rather than waiting until things are crappy and you have to do something to fix it.
But, that doesn’t seem to be the case for the majority of people.
I wonder why?
What are your thoughts about this?

BTW….you can listen into this conversation that Pace and I were having by clicking here. We recorded it for you.
Let go and get on with it already!
Posted by: | CommentsThe other day I was going through a bunch of old emails and I found a message from a dear friend. In it was a link to a video that she found called Breaking-Free. This topic is very appealing to me so I got comfy with my kitty companions and a cup of coffee and I watched the video.
This video was very cool. It highlighted a number of people who broke free of their conventional lives, took some risks, and journeyed off to far away lands to create their kick-ass dream lives.
The thing that rang true for me, was that they all had to release some ideas about how their lives were suppose to be in order to discover the things that were deeply meaningful and satisfying. They talked about never dreaming that they would end up doing what they are doing now, or that it was even possible.
I see this with my clients as well. Living your kick-ass dream life IS NOT about anything that you need to wait to have in the future when you have everything set up just right.
Living your kick-ass dream life IS about allowing yourself to let go of all the things that stand in your way of going for it.
It’s also about:
- giving yourself permission to take risks.
- trusting that the Universe has your back and is conspiring with you to get you what you want.
- fully committing to going for it.
- being strongly connected to your reasons for doing so because that is what will move you through the challenging places.
Get these things in place and you will be well on your way to Kick-Ass!
Here is the video that inspired me. Enjoy!

Ten tips for connecting to your kick-ass dream life
Posted by: | CommentsI often work with people who know that they want something more out of life, but they have no idea what that looks like.
I always suggest a bit of self-exploration to help them uncover their version of a kick-ass life.
I figured that I would share these 10 tips for connecting to your kick-ass life in case you struggle with the same thing.
Here we go………
1. Commit to looking for the things that make you happy. Start making a daily kick-ass list. Write down everything that feels good to you and that you want more of.
2. Create space to sit quietly and connect to your inner-freak every day. Listen to what it tells you. It knows the way to all that is juicy and fun.
3. Put yourself outside your normal day-to-day life to shake things up a bit and shift your perspective. (I decided to go for my dream of being a Life Coach when I was at Burning Man.)
4. Tap into your curiosity and sense of wonder. Ask questions, dig deep, and let yourself be surprised.
5. Play more! Have fun! This will help you tap into the energy of your kick-ass life and attract more of it to you.
6. Explore all the things that interest you and try it on for size. Conduct your very own Life Experiments.
7. Pay attention to what you admire about the folks around you. Think about what exactly it is that appeals to you. (For example: You admire your friends open relationship. When you think about it, you recognize that what appeals to you is their ability to be themselves and pursue their own interests, and that is what you want more of.)
8. Give yourself permission to do all the things that you think you CAN’T or SHOULDN’T do, but you really-really want to.
9. Think about how you want the different aspects of your life to feel. (i.e. Work, relationships, body, spirituality, communication, sexuality, and relationship to money)
10. Imagine how you want to feel on Monday morning, Wednesday afternoon, and Friday. What do you do on the weekends? Get specific. Think about the kind of people you want to be around and the things you will do.
