Your Kick-Ass Life

Posted by: | Comments (0)

What do you fear more- being just like everyone else, or being different than everyone else?

If you’re afraid of being different than everyone else you might as well stop reading right here, and be content with living a dull, stagnate normal life just like everyone else.

If you’re down with the idea of flying your freak flag and living a Kick-Ass Life, then we have something to talk about.

Living a Kick-Ass life is all about unfurling your freak flag and hanging it out for the world to see. You own who you are; do all the things that interest you and fill you up with juicy goodness; and you stop doing the stuff that you don’t give a shit about.

You live your life your way and it feels totally kick-ass!

I know that this can be freaking HARD! Even when you’re a card carrying freak and totally committed to living life your way, it can be difficult to figure out what your way looks like. I have struggled with this, and I see you struggling with it too.

Flying your freak flag and going your own way feels risky. When it comes right down to it, you want to be accepted and successful. You’re afraid that if you let it all hang out and do what you really want, you’ll end up a broke-ass, laughing stock with no future.

So you hesitate, and hang out feeling uncertain and confused in a life that you know could be so much more. You spend lots of time thinking about changing your life and seconded guessing your ideas, and longing for things to be different.

Are you sick of this yet?

If you’re ready to break free and seriously do something towards discovering your Kick-Ass Life I invite you to join me for the The Kick-Ass Discovery Group

Swallowed Up by a Gigantic Wave

Posted by: | Comments (1)

I feel like I’ve been swallowed up by a gigantic wave of work that comes with creating and launching a new program and product!

Don’t get me wrong- I’m very excited about what I have created!

I’m really looking forward to the free call that I’m offering on Wednesday night—yes – it’s only two days from now!

On the call I will share how to connect to your purpose and figure out what the hell to do with the rest of your life! We’re going to talk about -Meaning, FUN, Fulfillment and Kick-Ass-ness. There is still time to get in on it if you like-just go here and sign up.

After the call I will be revealing my new super helpful Guidebook, and a wonderful group that I’m putting together. This is like nothing I have ever done before and I can’t wait to jump in and play with you! In the meantime there is still copy to write, and all kinds of follow up emails to finish.

One thing I’m learning in all of this is how to find my authentic voice when pimping out my offerings. I’m discovering that I still struggle a bit with showing up as my freaky self when trying to enroll people and sell my coaching programs. I get caught up in the idea that there is a right way and a wrong way to do it.

Does this happen to you too?

I start trying to cram myself into the “marketing box” and follow someone else’s advice on how to write copy that sells or at least gets people to take action. Doing this feels fake and the content I create doesn’t sound like me. I get bogged down and can’t find the right words to express what I want to say. I end up feeling shut down and constricted and it is no fun at all.

I’ve decided to ditch the idea of doing it the right way and I’m staying centered in who I am while trying to authentically convey what I want you to know.  Let me know how I’m doing over the next few weeks!

Are you trying to be something that you are not?

That’s what happens when you live a pre-packaged life and try to fit into what society thinks is normal and good. You end up following someone else’s advice about how to be successful and live a meaningful life. You lose yourself bit by bit and your own special brilliance slowly starts to fade away. Next thing you know you are just one of the herd shuffling about wondering where your inspiration and passion went.

The question is- What does society know about what makes you successful and brings meaning to your life?

Not much!

You‘re the only one who knows what will bring you the most success, meaning, happiness and satisfaction. It looks different for each one of us. We are all unique and have our own perspective on life. Everything that you need to know is right there inside of you. All you have to do is start tuning into it, and allowing it to show you the way.

Trust me, you’re meant to live a Kick-Ass Life and you already have everything you need to do it.

The best place to start is by being 100% you!  Stop trying to be something that you are not and start tuning into everything that you are instead.

Spend some time getting to know YOU on a much deeper level.

Identify:

  • how you work
  • what you need to thrive
  • what your inner-guidance says
  • your  definition of success, happiness, satisfaction, love and meaning
  • your natural rhythms
  • your strengths
  • what you resonate with

Then use this information to go out and custom design your life to fit YOU perfectly, rather than trying to make yourself fit into someone else’s idea of perfect.

All this information is ready and available to you. You just need to learn how to tune into it. A great place to start is by creating a Daily Kick-Ass List. Spend some time everyday writing down all the things that worked for you, felt good to you and that you want more of. Take note of where you feel that you are in the flow and things are effortless.  Notice what you are appreciating about your life and the people in it. Don’t forget to appreciate yourself too!

Refer back to your Daily Kick-Ass List often and take note of any patterns. There will be lots of valuable information there about what you need to thrive. Use this information to create the perfect environment for you to be the best that you can be.

I have attached a Daily Kick-Ass List for you to work with. Try it out for a few weeks and let me know what happens.

How to Create a Kick-Ass Life-Part 2

Getting Up Close and Personal with YOU

(This is the second installment of How to Create a Kick-Ass Life.)

A common problem for a non-conforming soul is that you lose touch with your inner guidance and you end up feeling a bit lost and full of self doubt.

I think this happens because for most of your life you are marching to the beat of a different drummer, and everyone around you keeps telling you that YOU are out of sync.

It starts when you are a child, doing your own thing, and your parents want to mold you into their idea of a good child. They told you to quiet down, stop being so silly and to try harder. You are taught to follow their rules and behave in a certain way. This is also when you are taught to ignore how you feel and to do what you’re told so that things will be peaceful.

Then Things Get Worse

This only gets worse as you grow older. You go to school and there are more rules to follow, but now you have to deal with the other kids. There’s a lot of pressure to fit in so that you will be included. There is nothing worse than being picked last for kick-ball or to have to sit by yourself for lunch every day!

It is really easy to begin to make yourself wrong for being different, or to try to force yourself into the box so that you will fit in. You learn to play the game so that you will be included or you don’t even try and you become the mysterious  lone ‘lone wolf’ who is always off by themselves.

That was the route that I chose. I did my own thing, but I spent a lot of my time feeling like there was something wrong with me and resenting the hell out of the popular kids.  It was tough. I was often made wrong for being different, and this made me doubt myself and not trust my instincts. It made me feel like I didn’t know what was best for me.

Enter Adulthood

We carry this behavior into adulthood. Society has so many ideas and expectations around what you need to do in order to be as a successful adult, and what a meaningful life looks like.

Most people are doing the exact same thing with their lives -go to school, get a ‘real’ job, get married, have kids, work hard to provide for your family, save for your future, and then when you retire you can pursue your dreams.

On a day to day basis it becomes one big miserable grind. It’s the same-old-thing day in and day out.

The end result is that you begin to tune out and go into survival mode. Next thing you know, you’re stuck in a gigantic rut and you can’t see any way out of it.

This is no way to live!! I existed in that place for too many years before I broke free.

The way Out

The way out of this big, frustrating rut, is to reconnect with yourself and start listening to the beat of your own drummer again. It’s still there underneath everything else. You just forgot how to hear it.

The reality is that you are the only one who knows exactly what you need to feel totally alive, living life full out, on fire and deeply satisfied. Everything you need to know is right there inside of you, you just need to learn how tune into it.

If you want to create a Kick-Ass Life you need to learn how to tune into this inner wisdom so you can confidently identify what you need in order to custom design your life to fit you perfectly.

In order to do this you will need to get to know yourself on a much deeper level so that you know your preferences, what works, and what you need to feel deeply satisfied.

A New Set of Skills

This is a new set of skills for many people.

That is why we will spend 4 weeks exploring different ways to  know yourself better in the second module of the group program Create Your Kick-Ass Life in 2011.

Do you want help getting to know yourself better?

If you want to work on getting to know yourself better so that you can use this information to custom design your life to fit you perfectly, sign up for Create Your Kick-Ass Life in 2011.

Your Inner-Freak

Posted by: | Comments (0)

People tell me I am interesting all the time.

Mind you, these are typically people who live “normal’ mainstream lives. They have regular jobs and watch a lot of TV and are busy trying to keep up with everyone else. There is lots of the same-old-same-old going on.

I always ask them “what makes me so interesting?”

I get a similar answer every time. People are interested in my lifestyle, that I am always doing something new, hanging out with people who are exciting and cutting edge. I go to fun and funky events that they wish they got invited too. They find that I hold a unique perspective.

The biggest thing that interests them is that I do what I want in my life. They express a desire for all of fun and excitement that I seem to experience that is unavailable to them.

You know what?

This same fun and excitement is available to everyone.

I am nothing special.

I just know the key to living a thrilling life.

I will let you in on the secret:
